New employee training guide outline for JTR MOVERS

 1. Company Overview & Core Values

 Company Background & Mission

Founded in 2013 and based at 462 Grafton Street, Worcester, MA.

Licensed and insured provider serving all 39 cities and towns across Worcester County and central Massachusetts.

Specializes in comprehensive relocation and property solutions: residential moving, commercial office relocations, packing/unpacking, furniture disassembly/assembly, junk removal, estate cleanouts, and heavy specialty transport (such as pianos and appliances).

 Core Values

Transparency: Clear communication and zero hidden fees.

Reliability: Punctual, safe, and dependable service on every dispatch.

Community Focus: Serving local families, businesses, and seniors with care and respect.

Speed & Care: Efficient, high-paced workflows executed with thorough property and cargo protection.

Service Versatility: Adapting to diverse client needs, from labor-only jobs to full-scale corporate transitions.

2. Role-Specific Responsibilities

 Driver & Crew Lead

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip commercial truck inspections (fluids, tires, liftgate, lighting, and securing gear).

Safely navigate residential and commercial routes across central Massachusetts.

Serve as the on-site point of contact for the client: verify work orders, oversee bill-of-lading sign-offs, and collect payments.

Direct load planning and weight distribution inside the cargo box to prevent transit shifting.

 Mover & Material Handler

Wrap, pad, tape, and secure furniture, delicate finishes, and fragile electronics before moving.

Disassemble and reassemble standard furniture (bed frames, modular desks, shelving units).

Safely operate equipment including hand trucks, appliance dollies, 4-wheel dollies, and moving straps.

Apply property-protection materials on-site: door jamb protectors, neoprene floor runners, and banister padding.

Specialty Transport & Junk Removal Technician

Execute specialized rigging and transit protocols for heavy items (upright/grand pianos, gun safes, commercial appliances).

Sort, haul, and safely discard items during junk removal and estate cleanout jobs in compliance with local disposal regulations.

3. Customer Interaction Standards

 First Impressions & Professionalism

Arrive on schedule within the designated dispatch window.

Wear standard company uniform attire: clean branded apparel, work pants/shorts, and closed-toe safety boots.

Greet the customer warmly, introduce the crew, and conduct a brief initial walkthrough before lifting any items.

 Communication Standards

Maintain an approachable, reassuring, and professional demeanor, especially during high-stress customer transitions (such as senior downsizing or emergency moves).

Document and review existing furniture/property scuffs or damage with the client before handling (pre-existing condition walkthrough).

Give proactive updates if weather, traffic, or transit conditions cause delays.

 Conflict Resolution & Incident Reporting

Listen actively and remain calm if a client raises a concern; never argue or dismiss client feedback.

Immediately report any on-site property or cargo damage to the operations manager before leaving the premises.

Photograph the item/area, document the details on the job ticket, and notify the customer transparently.

4. Daily Procedures & Workflows

Morning Prep & Truck Inspection (6:00 AM – Departure)

Clock in and report to dispatch at the Grafton Street facility.

Review daily job manifest, destination addresses, access codes, and specialized equipment needs.

Perform truck inventory check: verify moving pads (minimum count per truck size), ratchet straps, shrink wrap rolls, tape guns, tool kits, and dollies.

 On-Site Execution

Arrival: Park safely, place safety cones if required on street routes, and conduct the client walkthrough.

Prep: Lay floor protection in main entryways and wrap door frames.

Loading: Pad and shrink-wrap furniture inside the home or staging area; pack the truck strictly by tiers (heavy base, mid-tier furniture, lightweight/fragile boxes on top).

Unloading: Place items directly into designated rooms as requested by the client; complete requested furniture reassembly.

 End-of-Day Checkout

Conduct a final sweep of the customer property and cargo box to verify no tools or items are left behind.

Obtain signed job completion sign-off and review customer satisfaction.

Return truck to base: clear all debris/trash from the cab and cargo area, restock materials, plug in liftgates/battery tenders, and submit completed job sheets.

5. 30-60-90 Day Milestone Framework

Days 1–30: Safety, Fundamentals & Job Shadowing

Focus: Safety protocols, proper lifting ergonomics, equipment literacy, and teamwork.

Activities: Complete company orientation; shadow senior crew leads on local residential jobs; master standard wrapping, padding, and box handling.

Check-in (Day 30): Practical evaluation on dolly handling, floor/door protection installation, and basic furniture disassembly.

Days 31–60: Operational Independence & Specialized Handling

Focus: Speed, efficiency, truck-tier loading, and customer-facing communication.

Activities: Assist in tier-loading trucks under lead supervision; handle appliance dollies and oversized furniture; learn documentation workflows for junk removal and cleanouts.

Check-in (Day 60): Assessment on efficient room loading speeds, inventory paperwork, and independent handling of common assembly tools.

Days 61–90: Full Autonomy & Specialty Execution

Activities: Participate in specialty moves (pianos, commercial office setups); independently manage client walkthroughs and job sign-offs; support newer crew members.

Evaluation (Day 90): Comprehensive review covering safety record, on-time performance, customer feedback, and potential advancement into Crew Lead or designated Driver status.
